1. Dome Resort — Cancellation Terms
Standard Rate Reservations
- 14 or more days before check-in: Full refund of all payments made.
- 7 to 13 days before check-in: 50% refund of the total booking value. The remaining 50% is retained as a late cancellation fee.
- 6 days or fewer before check-in (including no-shows): No refund. The full booking amount is forfeited.
Peak Season & Special Dates
During peak seasons (Paro Tsechu festival period, Bhutanese New Year, and other national holidays), a stricter policy may apply. Any variation will be communicated clearly at the time of booking confirmation.
Non-Refundable Rates
Occasionally, special promotional rates are offered as non-refundable. These will be clearly marked at the time of booking. No refund is available for non-refundable rate reservations regardless of when cancellation occurs.
2. Camping Experiences — Cancellation Terms
Curated camping experiences involve advance preparation, equipment procurement, and staff coordination. Due to this, the following terms apply:
- 21 or more days before the experience date: Full refund.
- 10 to 20 days before: 50% refund.
- 9 days or fewer before: No refund.
If a camping experience cannot proceed due to site inaccessibility or safety concerns (e.g., extreme weather), we will offer a full credit for a future date or a full refund.
3. How to Cancel
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to contact@highlandbhutan.com with your booking reference number. Cancellation is effective from the date we receive your written request.
Verbal cancellations by phone or messaging apps are not accepted as official cancellations.
4. Refund Timeline
Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of cancellation confirmation. Refunds are returned via the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Bank transfer fees, if any, are borne by the guest.
5. Modifications to Bookings
Date changes are subject to availability and must be requested at least 14 days before the original check-in date. We will do our best to accommodate your request. If the new dates result in a higher room rate, the difference is payable by the guest.
Room category changes (e.g., Riverfront to Hilltop) are treated as a new booking and the cancellation terms above apply to the original booking.
6. Force Majeure
If we are unable to honour your reservation due to circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, government travel restrictions, public health emergencies, or similar), we will offer either:
- A full credit valid for 24 months, or
- A full refund of payments made
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, including for force majeure events.
7. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend all guests obtain appropriate travel insurance before travelling to Bhutan. This should include coverage for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, emergency evacuation, and baggage loss.
Bhutan requires all international tourists to hold a valid visa and, in most cases, travel through licensed tour operators. Please ensure your insurance covers your specific itinerary.
