Riverfront Domes

Peace, right by the water

Thirteen luxury dome tents rest along the riverfront, tucked deep within a serene pine forest. Wake to the gentle sound of flowing water, breathe in crisp mountain air, and step outside to an untouched stretch of Bhutanese countryside.

Each dome is a quiet, spacious retreat — elegantly appointed, with every modern comfort, panoramic views, and easy access to our spa and wellness experiences. A place for slow mornings and the simple luxury of doing nothing at all.

Hilltop Domes

A front-row view like nowhere else

Just two exclusive domes sit on a private ridge above town, with a front-row view of Paro International Airport — one of the most challenging airports in the world — where you can watch aircraft glide between the mountains as they land.

Beyond it, the view opens onto the historic Paro Rinpung Dzong, Ta Dzong, and the full sweep of the valley below. With only two domes, privacy comes first here — Bhutan’s most secluded stay, and the natural choice for honeymoons, anniversaries, and a couple’s first getaway after marriage.

Two locations

Two locations. Two entirely different worlds.

These are two physically separate parts of the resort in different areas of Paro — not two wings of the same building. Choose the journey that suits you, or split your group across both.

Founder's Inspiration

Building Bhutan’s first glamping destination

My journey began as an Electrical Engineer before I ventured into the construction industry as a contractor. Throughout my career, I was always fascinated by the challenge of creating structures that were not only functional but also unique and memorable. This passion for innovation inspired me to think beyond conventional buildings and explore concepts that could offer extraordinary experiences.

While working on various construction projects, I envisioned creating something truly distinctive for Bhutan — a destination that would combine luxury, nature, and innovative design in a way that had never been seen before. Inspired by Bhutan's pristine landscapes and the growing demand for unique travel experiences, I conceived the idea of a luxury dome tent resort.

What began as a bold vision gradually transformed into reality, resulting in the creation of a one-of-a-kind dome tent resort in Bhutan. Nestled amidst pine forests and overlooking a beautiful riverfront setting, the resort was designed to allow guests to immerse themselves in nature without compromising on comfort and luxury.

Building the resort was not without challenges. Introducing a new hospitality concept in Bhutan required determination, creativity, and a willingness to take risks. Today, the resort stands as a testament to innovation, passion, and the pursuit of excellence — offering guests an experience unlike any other in the country.

What our guests say

Waking up to the sound of the Paro river with that misty valley view from our dome felt genuinely private and unhurried. The hot stone bath in the evening was transcendent.

Riverfront Dome
The hilltop dome was breathtaking — 270-degree views of the Paro Valley. The team was impeccably discreet, anticipating needs without ever intruding. This is what slow travel feels like.

Hilltop Dome
Highland Glamping offered something I have not found elsewhere — genuine quietness. No crowds, no noise. Just Bhutan as it should be felt. The restaurant was exceptional too.
